In Memory of our Founder, Will Poovey
Will Poovey died on July 2nd, 2014 from injuries he sustained from a tragic accident in Zimbabwe while attending a friend's destination wedding. Will left behind 2 young children and his wife, Kara, as well as many other family and friends that loved him dearly. Will was just 43 years old, yet he achieved so much and helped so many people in his brief time with us.
After starting and building his first successful IT business, Will chose to start another business, Sourcing Solutions LLC, with a team of like-minded, capable and caring individuals. Will founded SSL in 2010 with a mission to help create better lives for himself and those lucky enough to be invited to join him at SSL. SSL serves its customers by providing and supporting alternative technology solutions including End of Life and refurbished enterprise IT equipment.
SSL continues to reflect Will's vision through a unique combination of a deep commitment for excellence, tenacity to achieve, genuine care for people and a generous spirit. He constantly challenged himself and others to be at their best in work, health, relationships and life in general. In fact, many counted Will as a mentor "life guide", including some many years older than himself. Through Will's vision and leadership, SSL achieved what many thought impossible and growth that earned recognition as a Fastest Growing Private Company in OC (Orange County Business Journal) 3 years running. In addition, SSL was awarded Top Place to Work recognition this year by the OC Register, a reflection of the culture that Will envisioned and helped to develop.
SSL continues to thrive after Will's passing, a testament to his leadership, impact and ability to find and develop a highly capable team.
If you would like to learn more about Will, please visit his memorial page on Facebook or reach out to an SSL team member. You can also get a glimpse of his beliefs by reading "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz. This book has formed a basis of the SSL culture since inception. All SSL Team Members are provided a copy of "The Four Agreements" as part of their on boarding experience.
Will was a graduate of UCLA and UC Hastings College of Law and had a successful career at Orrick, Harrington and Sutcliffe before venturing out in 2001 to start his first successful IT business. Will Poovey Facebook Memorial Page
